ABOUT HOUSE OF LEYLA
More than a wellness space. A place to come home to yourself and to community.
House of Leyla began with a simple belief: that looking after ourselves should never be something we have to earn, and that none of us are meant to navigate life alone.
What began as Leyla Ramadan’s personal journey towards healing, understanding and connection has grown into something much bigger. A welcoming, inclusive community space in the heart of Gravesend, Kent.
Today, House of Leyla is a place where you can move, rest, eat, create, work, talk, laugh, learn, receive support, meet new people, or simply take a moment to breathe.
You don't have to arrive knowing exactly what you need.
You can just come as you are.
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
House of Leyla was born from Leyla’s own experience of discovering what holistic wellbeing could mean.
Her journey began through recovery from an eating disorder, a deeply personal experience that changed the way she understood health, happiness and the relationship we have with ourselves.
Along the way, Leyla explored psychology, Buddhism, Hinduism, meditation and yoga, travelling to India to train as a yoga teacher and undertaking a silent meditation retreat.
These experiences gradually changed her understanding of wellbeing.
She began to see that we are not separate parts that can simply be “fixed” one at a time. Our physical health, mental wellbeing, emotions, relationships, environment and sense of purpose are all connected.
And perhaps most importantly, she discovered the power of community, connection and asking for help.
House of Leyla grew from the desire to share that understanding with others.
Not to tell people how they should live.
Not to create another place where you have to be a certain kind of person to belong.
But to create somewhere people could come exactly as they are.

AND THEN IT BECAME A HOUSE
What started as an idea became a physical space.
And over time, that space began to evolve in ways that could never have been completely planned.
People came for yoga and stayed for coffee.
Practitioners found a place to grow their businesses.
Friendships formed.
People who had never met before started talking.
Classes became communities.
Workshops became conversations.
The café became somewhere to sit a little longer.
And House of Leyla became more than the collection of rooms within its walls.
It became the people who fill them.
Today, House of Leyla brings together yoga and movement, meditation, breathwork, sound healing, holistic therapies, massage, Soul Sessions, nourishing food, creative workshops, community events, retreats and so much more.
But the individual things we offer have never been the whole story.
The connection between them is.

A PLACE TO BELONG
We believe wellbeing isn't just about what happens on a yoga mat.
Sometimes wellbeing is moving your body.
Sometimes it is sitting quietly.
Sometimes it is eating something nourishing.
Sometimes it is having a treatment or speaking to someone who can help.
Sometimes it is making something with your hands.
Sometimes it is dancing, laughing, playing a game, meeting a stranger who becomes a friend, or having a conversation over a cup of coffee.
And sometimes wellbeing is simply having somewhere to go.
House of Leyla was created to be that kind of place.
A space where you don't have to perform wellness.
A space where there is no expectation to have it all together.
A space where asking for help is welcomed rather than judged.
A space where you can belong.

WELLBEING FOR REAL LIFE
Life can be busy, complicated and overwhelming.
We are often encouraged to give our energy to work, family, responsibilities and everyone around us and somehow find the time to look after ourselves afterwards.
But there is no “afterwards”.
Our wellbeing is part of our everyday lives.
That's why House of Leyla brings together different ways of caring for ourselves, because we know that everyone's needs are different.
You might come to a yoga class.
You might discover meditation.
You might book a massage or holistic therapy.
You might come for lunch at SoulFuel Café.
You might work remotely from the space.
You might join a workshop, a circle, a sound bath or a community event.
You might come to one of our retreats.
Or you might simply walk through the door because you felt like being somewhere that feels good.
There is no one right way to wellbeing.
COMMUNITY IS AT OUR HEART
Community isn't something we've added to House of Leyla.
It is the reason House of Leyla exists.
Alongside our regular classes, therapies and events, we are passionate about creating opportunities for people to connect — including our free community classes, Chatty Café and community gatherings.
We want wellbeing to feel accessible, welcoming and human.
We believe that finances shouldn't be the only thing determining whether someone gets to experience movement, connection and wellbeing.
We also believe that community doesn't happen by accident.
It happens when people make space for one another.
When someone comes to a class alone.
When someone sits down for a coffee and starts a conversation.
When someone asks for help.
When someone offers it.
When a practitioner finds the confidence to grow their own business.
When people who might never otherwise have crossed paths discover that they have more in common than they thought.
These are the moments that make House of Leyla what it is.

About House of Leyla
THE HOUSE OF LEYLA FEELING
There is something special about a place that becomes part of people’s lives.
It’s the familiar faces, the conversations after class, the laughter, the quiet moments, the food, the friendships and the feeling of being welcome exactly as you are.
House of Leyla has grown far beyond the original idea. It has become a community of teachers, therapists, practitioners, creatives, members, visitors, volunteers and friends, all contributing something to the space.
House of Leyla is not just something we created. It is something we have created together.
And we’re still growing.
Our vision is to keep creating a space where people can reconnect with themselves, their wellbeing and each other, with more opportunities for movement, creativity, support, connection and joy.
Because this was never meant to be just a yoga studio.
It was always meant to be a home for wellbeing and community.
COME AS YOU ARE
You don’t need to be flexible, experienced, or have everything figured out.
You don’t even need to know what you’re looking for.
Just come as you are.
There is space here for you.
Welcome to House of Leyla.
